The Long Arc of the Historical Society Bends Toward a House Tour in 2027!
Always looking toward the future, CIHS has begun planning its next House Tour, to be held in the summer of 2027. We hope to be offering a number of Chebeague’s most interesting and historic buildings. To do this, we will be assembling a team of volunteers. If you would like to help us plan, or offer your house for the tour, or be a docent, or be involved in any number of ways, please send us an email.

Volunteers Needed
Do you love old photos, home movies, and island history? We have a great volunteer opportunity! The CIHS has a backlog of photos whose subjects (people, places, buildings) need to be identified and scanned, and videos and interviews that need to be digitized. We have the equipment, but we really need the help. Email [email protected] if you can help. We are happy to train you!

February Mystery Photo

January Mystery Photo Revealed
Binkie Boxer was the first person to answer to identify the photo. She knew the location and who lived there; the Bisharats added more info. Doug Damon had no idea, so Donna made him drive around and find the houses! The house on the left was the home of Joshua Curit. It burned in the 1930. Pam Pulcifer’s house sits on the lot. Brothers Walter and Merton Curit built the next two houses. Rick and Sandy live in Walter’s house and Kim and Barry live in Merton’s!
